Learn More About Your Door
Are you wondering whether your overhead garage door is secure? Not sure how to go about maintaining it? Scroll down and check out the following tips.
If the opener only makes noise without working, have it checked
It is normal for garage door openers to make a sound when they're operating. This is because of the gears, wheels, belts and chains that are set in motion to raise or lower the heavy garage door. If you hear the motor or even the drive assembly of your opener running but the door isn't moving, these parts need to be checked for wear and tear. Gears, belts or chains that are too worn out to function must be replaced.
Inspect the garage door rollers and hinges thoroughly
Check the rollers for twisted stems and worn wheels. If you notice any of these issues, you should get new ones. Inspect the hinges for bending. The risk of this problem is lower with heavy-gauge ones. To find out if they are worn, look at the cylinder of each one. If it is oblong instead of round, the component in question should be replaced timely.
The benefits of insulated doors
Insulated doors provide many benefits for your garage. They help reduce the transfer of heat or cold air from the outside to the inside. They are quieter and have more attractive interior than non-insulated doors. So, if you use your garage as a workshop, your comfort will be a top priority.
